Alli's Anklets
Materials: Worseted Weight yarn which will produce the gauge given below.
Needle Size: 3 ¾ mm dpn’s
Gauge: 5 sts and 7 Rows = 1” on 3 ¾ mm needles.
Cotton Tots was used for model.
Legend:
Ssk: slip slip knit: slip 2 sts knit wise then insert left hand needle into front of both sts and knit them together.
Cast on 40sts and divide on 3needles. (14sts on 1st needle, 13sts on 2nd needle, 13sts on 3rd needle)
Knit 10 rounds or (k1, p1) Ribbing,
Knit 10 rounds.
Divide sts for heel as follows:
Knit 14sts from needle one and 4sts from needle 2, onto one needle. Work these 18sts only. Remaining 22sts are the instep sts.
Row 1: sl 1, purl to end, turn.
Row 2: sl 1, knit to end, turn.
Repeat these 2 rows 8 more times.
Row 19: sl1 purl to end, turn.
Turn Heel:
Row 20: sl 1, k9, ssk, k1, turn.
Row 21: sl 1, p3, p2tog, p1, turn.
Row 22: sl 1, k4, ssk, k1, turn.
Row 23: sl 1, p5, p2tog, p1, turn.
Row 24: sl 1, k6, ssk, k1, turn.
Row 25: sl 1, p7, p2tog, p1, turn.
Row 26: sl 1, k9, ssk, turn.
Row 27: sl 1, p8, p2tog.
Slip 22 instep sts onto one needle.
K across 5 heel sts with one needle and knit across the next 5 heel stitches and pick up and knit 12 sts along the side of heel. Using another needle knit across the 22 instep sts. Using another needle, pick up and knit 12 sts along side of heel, using same needle knit last 5sts. Now you have 17sts on 1st needle, 22sts on 2nd needle, and 17sts on 3rd needle.
Shape Gusset:
Round 1: Needle 1, k to last 3sts, k2tog, k1
Needle 2, Knit
Needle 3, k1, ssk, knit to end
Round 2: Knit all 3 needles
Repeat last 2 rounds until there are 11sts on needles 1 and 3, 22 on 2nd.
Knit every round until foot of sock measures 1 ¾ inches less than desired length.
Toe Shaping:
Round 1: Needle 1, k to last 3sts, k2tog, k1
Needle 2, k1 ssk, k to last 3sts, k2tog, k1
Needle 3, k1, ssk, k to end
Round 2: Knit all 3 needles.
Repeat last 2 round until there are only 20sts left. (5 on 1st needle, 10 on 2nd needle, 5 on 3rd needle). Now repeat round 1 until there are 8sts left, break yarn leaving 6inch length, thread yarn through remaining 8sts. Darn in ends.
